Short play
Synopsis:
A brotherly meeting between master composer Jean Sibelius and painter Akseli Gallén-Kallela takes a dramatic turn when miss Helene Shjerfbeck suddenly waltzes in – a woman who especially Gallén-Kallela cannot stand. The creative strength of both men has already started to wane, but Shjerfbeck has only just found her genius. Loneliness and defiance, jealousy and bitterness are feelings familiar also to these stars of the golden age of Finnish arts. Through them is portrayed a piece of the country's history of independence, a history where artists were key figures.
