Can You Hear the Howling?

Can you hear the howling? deals with serious issues such as hereditary motherlessness, alcoholism, schizophrenia and growing up in a shattered home. However, the characters in the play are undoubtedly survivors and they have the strength to confront their traumatic experiences. The tragicomic note throughout the play is due to the sharply focussed dialogue which succeeds in crystallising a portrait of the characters and of the family’s everyday reality, of the forward motion of the action in the play and of the thrilling everyday observations, misunderstandings and comic parallels.
